Dr. Greene is the co-founder of 1st Tier and brings over 33 years of experience in education. His diverse career spans roles as a teacher, department chair, assistant principal, and principal across elementary, middle, and high school levels. Additionally, Dr. Greene has contributed as an adjunct professor and held significant district-level positions, including Curriculum Coordinator, Director of Professional Learning, and Executive Director for Teaching and Learning.
Renowned for his expertise, Dr. Greene was invited as a panelist at the 2014 White House Initiative for Educational Excellence for African Americans. This summit, initiated by President Barack Obama, focused on enhancing opportunities for African American students and promoting educational success for all.
Dr. Greene holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Morehouse College, a master's in the Teaching of Social Studies from Columbia University's Teachers College, and both specialist and doctoral degrees from Argosy University - Atlanta.
Rod Smith is an innovative leader and retired Chief of Technology for the fifth-largest school district in Georgia. As co-founder, Mr. Smith brings his technology acumen to 1st Tier with a career spanning roles as a middle school Technology Teacher, Instructional Technology Training Specialist, and Instructional Technology Coordinator. Rod has consistently demonstrated his unique ability to create partnerships while merging technical expertise with instructional leadership.
As Chief of Technology, Rod was pivotal in guiding the district through the COVID-19 pandemic, implementing strategies that ensured uninterrupted learning and support for educators, students, and families. His leadership in navigating this critical period underscores his commitment to leveraging technology to achieve strategic and academic goals.
A Cisco Certified Network Engineer, Rod comprehensively understands infrastructure and educational technology. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology Education and earned his Master’s in Instructional Technology. His passion for innovation and lifelong learning continues to inspire others in the ever-evolving field of education technology.
